Description
Hydes Mill was built in 1850 making it 170 yrs old. I first found this place while messing around on my phone on Google Maps and thought it may be a good place to shoot the night sky. Seemed like it was in a pretty dark location away from city lights and boy was I right. I planned a fall color trip from Denver Colorado to Madison Wisconsin just capturing things I saw along the way. This mill was my turn around point. I arrived here after sunrise one night and stayed the night in my car... I was blown away by how clear the sky was in this location. I set up to do some shots of the mill but the water must have been warmer than the air because there was a massive amount of steam coming off the water. I finally got positioned to do 1 very long exposure while I will upload at a later date. After that was finished I put the camera away and go warm in my car and as I was sitting there I could see the thin clouds start to roll in... I decided to stay until sunrise and I am sure glad I did. It really ended up being a wonderful experience seeing the colors of the trees along with the gorgeous sky that morning..
